Direct Indirect Narration

Speech या फिर Narration बोलिए ये दो प्रकार के होते हैं

1। Direct Speech इसे हिंदी में प्रत्यक्ष कथन कहते हैं।

2। Indirect Speech इसे हिंदी में अप्रत्यक्ष कथन कहते हैं।

Direct Speech और Indirect Speech क्या होते हैं आइए बारीकी से समझते हैं।

1। Direct Speech - जब किसी व्यक्ति की कही हुई बातों को हम उसी की भाषा में बताते हैं तब उस कथन को Direct Speech कहते हैं। 

2। Indirect Speech - जब किसी व्यक्ति के कही हुई बात में हम कुछ हेर - फेर कर उसके उसको अपनी भाषा में बताते हैं तब उस कथन को indirect speech कहते हैं।

Direct Speech 👇

• अंकित ने कहा,"मैं व्यस्त हूं।
• Ankit said,"I am busy."
• शिवम् ने मुझसे कहा,"मैं तैयार हूं।"
• Shivam said to me,"I am ready."
• रोजी ने रजनी से पूछा,"तुम कैसी हो?"
• Rozy asked Rajani,"How are you?"

Indirect Speech👇

• अंकित ने कहा कि मैं व्यस्त हूं।
• Ankit said that he was busy.
• शिवम् ने मुझसे कहा की मैं तैयार हूं।
• Shivam told me that he was ready."
• रोजी ने रजनी से पूछा की तुम कैसी हो?
• Roji asked Rajani how she was.

दिए गए Examples से स्पष्ट है की हिंदी में indirect speech का प्रचलन नहीं है। केवल inverted commas ko हटाकर ' की ' का प्रयोग किया जाता है तथा वाक्य की बची संरचना (construction) में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं होता है, परंतु english language में speech परिवर्तन का काफी महत्व है। English के अधिकांश sentence indirect speech में होतें हैं। अतः indirect speech का अनुवाद करते समय संबंधित rules को ध्यान में रखना आवश्यक है।

आइए सबसे पहले हम ऐसे हिंदी वाक्यों के अनुवाद करना सीखें, जो direct speech में हैं और जिनका अनुवाद भी direct speech में करना है -

Examples:

• अभिषेक कहता है,"मैं डॉक्टर हूं।"
• Abhishek says,"I am a doctor."
• चंदन मुझसे कहता है, "मैं बहुत व्यस्त था।" Chandan says to me, "I was very busy." 
• मैंने मुन्नू से पूछा, “इन दिनों तुम क्या कर रहे हो ?"
•  I asked Munnu, “What are you doing these days ?"
• टिंकू ने टुनटुन से कहा, "धूप में मत दौड़ो।" Tinku said to Tuntun, "Don't run in the sun." 
• तुमुल विपुल से कहेगा, "मैं तुम्हारा सच्चा दोस्त हूँ।" 
• Tumul will say to Vipul, "I am your true friend." 
• मैं मुकुल से कहूँगा, "मुझे आपकी मदद की आवश्यकता है।" 
• I shall say to Mukul, "I need your help." 
• उसने मुझसे कहा, "कृपया मेरी मदद करें।" He said to me, "Please help me." 

ध्यान दें Say / Said के बाद Object रहने पर To का प्रयोग किया जाता है, परन्तु Tell / Told / Ask/Asked के बाद To का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है। जैसे— 

He said to me/Mohan says to me / I said to him. 

परन्तु, He told me / Mohan tells me / I asked him.

Translate into English

राकेश कहता है, "मैं अभी व्यस्त हूँ।" वह मुझसे कहती है, "मैं तुम्हारा शुभचिंतक हूँ।" मैंने रजनी से कहा, "ईमानदार और मेहनती बनो।" रीतिका ने सोनल से कहा, "मैं अंग्रेजी घोल सकती हूँ।" विनीता ने श्वेता से कहा, "तुम क्या कर रही हो?" मुकेश ने रूपेश से कहा, "तुम कब जा रहे हो ?" शिवम् ने छोटू से कहा, "शोरगुल मत करो।" टिंकू ने चीकू से पूछा, "तुम्हारी दादी कैसी है ?" शिक्षक ने चपरासी से कहा, "एक ग्लास पानी खाओ।" चपरासी ने प्रधानाध्यापक से कहा, "कृपया मुझे दो दिनों की छुट्टी दें!" मैंने उससे कहा, "मैं तुम्हें चाहता हूँ।" उसने मुझसे कहा, "क्या तुम आज तैयार हो ?"

अब हम ऐसे हिन्दी वाक्यों के अनुवाद करना सीखें जो Indirect Speech में हैं। Indirect Speech में अनुवाद करने के लिए Rules of Narration को ध्यान में रखना आवश्यक है।

Rules को Explain करने के पहले इससे सम्बन्धित कुछ Terms को समझ लेना अपेक्षित है। ये Terms इस प्रकार हैं—

 1. Reporting Verb : Inverted Commas के बाहर जो Sentence रहता है, उसके Verb को Reporting Verb कहा जाता है, जैसे 

Ram said, “I am fine." यहाँ 'said' Reporting Verb है। 

2. Reported Speech : Inverted Inverted Commas के अन्दर जो Sentence रहता है, उसे Reported Speech कहा जाता है, जैसे— 

Mohan said, “I am going to Delhi."   यहाँ “I am going to Delhi." Reported Speech है।

3. Verb of the Reported Speech Reported Speech में प्रयुक्त Verb को Verb of the Reported Speech कहा जाता है, जैसे— 

Soni said to Pinky. "I like rasgullas” यहाँ 'Like' Verb of the Reported Speech है।

How to Change into Indirect Form of Speech 

Direct form of Speech को Indirect form of Speech में Change करने के लिए कुछ General Rules और कुछ Special Rules का सहारा लेना पड़ता है। 

General Ruels उन नियमों को कहते हैं, जो हर प्रकार के Sentence के साथ लागू किये जाते हैं, 

जबकि Special Rules विभिन्न प्रकार के Setences (Assertive / Interrogative / Imperative / Optative / Exclamatory) के लिए अलग-अलग हैं। 

General Rules को आसानी से समझने के लिए इसे तीन भागों में निम्नलिखित प्रकार विभाजित कर सकते हैं— 

1. Change of Person 

2. Change of Tense 

3. Change of Other Parts of Speech 

1. Change of Person:

Direct Speech को Indirect Speech में Change करने के लिए Reported Speech में प्रयुक्त Pronouns को निम्नलिखित प्रकार से Change करते हैं- 

1. First Person को Reporting Verb के Subject के अनुसार 

2. Second Person को Reporting Verb के Object के अनुसार 

3. Third Person-No Change 

इसे याद रखने के लिए नीचे दिये गये सूत्र को ध्यान में रखें—

                    S ON

1 का मतलब है : First Person, S का मतलब है Subject, अर्थात् First Person 'Subject' के अनुसार Change करते है। 

2 का मतलब है : Second Person, O का मतलब है Object, अर्थात् Second Person "Object' के अनुसार Change करते है।

 3 का मतलब है Third Person, N का मतलब है No, अर्थात् Third Person में कोई Change नहीं होता है।

ध्यान दें : ऊपर Box में दिये गये सूत्र को SON formula भी कहते हैं।

2.Change of Tense:

१. यदि Reporting verb, Present या Future Tense में हो, तो Reported Speech के Tense में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया जाता है। Sense के अनुसार केवल Pronouns Change कर दिया जाता है।Pronouns को Change करने के लिए हम SON formula का प्रयोग करते हैं।

२.यदि Reporting Verb Past Tense में हो, तो Reported Speech का Tense इस प्रकार बदला जाता है।

Present Indefinite को Past indefinite में

Present continuous को Past continuouse में

Present perfect को past perfect में

Present perfect continuous को past perfect continuous में

Past indefinite को past perfect में

Past continuous को past perfect continuous में

Past perfect को No change

Past perfect continuous को No change
